Ages (as of Jan. 1): 6 – 7 years

Practices: Once a week (schedule TBA before the season starts) at Centennial Park - Diamond 3 Games: Saturdays at Centennial Park - Diamond 3

Description:

· Base paths are set at 50 feet and pitching mound is set at 36 feet.

· Games are 4 innings in length.

· Jr. Tadpole division is designed to develop interest in the game of baseball by the active participation of all players with a focus on fun.

· The ball is hit from a pitching machine or batting tee and a soft version of a baseball is used.

· The emphasis is on the 5 FUNdamentals of baseball

o Throwing

o Base Running

o Receiving

o Hitting

o General Knowledge

Equipment Required

· Glove

· Runners or rubber cleats

· Protective jock/jill

· Grey baseball pants

*Helmets and bats are supplied by the team but players may bring their own. Helmets must have chin strap and bat must meet 30 inch, 2 5/8 inch max diameter, unlimited length/weight drop - bats with greater than 2 ¼ in. barrel diameter must be marked “USABB” or stamped with BPF 1.15”(Bat Performance factor)
